Can't beat this Forever21 black plaid a-line skirt for instant chic and yet there's plenty of drama and a certain retro chic about it -- just team it with a black felt floppy hat and pumps... This one does run true to size, if not generous and it has a stretchy waistband on top. I would go a size lower perhaps...

Forever 21 is one of my favorite stores (who doesn't love it!) but I found their skirt a little disappointing. It was very cute and could easily be styled with a simple shirt for a clean classic look or with something more dramatic to break away from cliches. It was free-flowing and was not stiff which is an important factor that some pleated skirts tend to lack. However, the material was not very strong and soon after purchasing it and wearing it an average of 3-5 times, I found a hole just below the waistline. However, it was very comfortable but beware, when tucking in a shirt, it tends to have a bulky look.
I am in love with this skirt - it's perfect for a splash of color at the office, its great for a conservative night out, and pretty much all other occasions! I love the unconventional floral print and the color is superb. I bought the green one but the yellow is also quite pretty.
