The second show I attended during the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC was the Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2011 show. Designer Rebecca Minkoff is most known for her gorgeous bags perfect for the modern woman. And her Ready-To-Wear? I would have to say her collection indeed embodies the modern or urban woman too. She combines urban and bohemian styles without leaving luxury and that classy feel to it.

I would describe her collection as the ultimate embodiment of the woman of today – stylish, sophisticated, sexy yet comfy and free-spirited!

Charlotte Kemp Muhl-Inspired
The Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2011 collection was designed with Charlotte Kemp Muhl in mind. The Boho-Chic Beauty along with her beau Sean Lennon started the show with beautiful music and continued on for the rest of the show, complementing the pieces going down the runway. Charlotte, herself is wearing one of the most-coveted pieces in the collection which is the Long Burnout Velvet Dress – another maxi dress similar to the photo to your left except in a peachy/blush color. The Charlotte Dress, $550 is actually available for Pre-Order at Rebecca Minkoff’s Online Shop along with a few other pieces from the collection.
Maxis Continue to Rise
Going back to Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2011 Collection, I applaud the use of maxi skirts and fur and leather combination but most especially love all the leopard pieces at the start of the show. My personal pick? The beautiful leopard romper is just oh so gorgeous and simply me. I can actually picture a lot of Chictopians wearing the look. With each of the pieces coming down the runway, I can’t help but picture our very own Chictopia Style Icons wearing Rebecca Minkoff’s pieces. Her collection is definitely one of our faves.
Skinny Pants
At the moment, bell-bottoms are making a comeback this Spring. But come Fall, Rebecca Minkoff is giving us loads of skinny pants! Mixed with sheer leopard skirts, blazers, chunky knits, capes, trenches, tweed jackets and basic tees, the skinny pants with quilted leather patch details already had us excited for Fall 2011!!! We can’t wait.
Clutch and Vintage-Inspired Bags
To say that I love Rebecca Minkoff bags is an understatement and I bet a lot of ladies out there will agree with me. They are modern and stylish, not to mention functional! The ever-popular Morning After Clutch has enough room for our necessities and leaves both our hands free for partying or some serious shopping! Now after seeing her new collection, I can’t help but love her latest bag collections. I’m seeing more convertible bags (shoulder to clutch) and vintage-inspired ones too! She has a couple of mini briefcase-like clutches that double as a shoulder bag – more reasons to get excited for Fall 2011!
Celeb-Spotting
Last but not the least, I’m pretty sure you’d like to see the celebrities I spotted on front row at Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2011 Show. Gossip Girl Ladies Jessica Szohr, Michelle Trachtenberg and Tiki Sumpter were there. MTV’s The Hills’ Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt also made appearances. There’s also Agyness Deyn, artist/singer Eve and a few other celebrities were also spotted. It was indeed a celebrity-filled front row which wasn’t a surprise at all considering a lot of celebrities adore and love Rebecca Minkoff’s bags!
Until the next show,
Cris
